Turkey for hire
Companies I work with were generous this Christmas. Please note the amazing flower arrangement behind the less colorful, but surely more tasty, smoked turkey, above.
Problem is, LH is on a lowest sodium possible diet, so smoked turkey is OUT.
I'm trying to find a worthy home for this delicious hickory smoked item from New Braunfels Smokehouse. I tried a church in Brenham, no answer. Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top suggested AMEN in LaGrange, but they're closed until Monday.
Anyone got any ideas???

Aaaaa...my house? OK, I'm getting greedy. I want your books. I want your turkey. I want....
The Texas Woman
Don't let her have it! Everyone knows she steals them this time of year. Richard's family is needy... they're loosing weight over there. Herbert especially...
There is a Jefferson House retirement center in LaGrange. Also, perhaps call churches to see if they have a particularly needy family. A food bank might also take it.
Very pretty arrangement!
The turkey looks good! Any shelters in your area?
Is it too late to add my 'who to call'? Do you know any teachers or school administrators? They always know a family who would appreciate something.
Great ideas. I will pursue. Thanks to all for commenting!
(Surely someone will save Herbert a bite...)
Somked Turkey IS the best, but there is a soup kitchen daily I think at the church right on Main and is it MCgregor (near the zoo)? Also, is it City of Hope that feeds people daily? After the meat is gone the cooks could make a tasty soup from the carcass.
Sydney, I think you're talking about Palmer Memorial, but I'll check. Thanks!
i asked my husband and he doesn't know the name of it! Terrible!
nice dish
